Yes I’m Busy, but I’m Also HEALTHY!!!
I have been so shocked this Fall at how busy our little life has become! With work, school, church activities, soccer, and a host of other things, each day and night of the next two months is almost entirely booked! Granted, many of our commitments are things we take pleasure in. Such as, soccer games, field trips, youth retreats, football games, etc., but that doesn’t make the pace any less hectic! I love our busy schedule, but I also enjoy our nights and weekends at home.
Yet, in the midst of all of this, I have made a promise to myself that I will TAKE CARE OF ME! You see, if I fail to keep this promise, everything I mentioned above becomes all the more difficult. Don’t get me wrong, my husband plays an integral part in the day to day functions of our family, but Momma is the glue. I keep our schedule on my Iphone…and in my head. I make sure soccer jerseys and socks are washed. I sign the permission slips for field trips and make sure everyone is clothed properly for cool nights and hay rides. I make sure the fridge is stocked with all of the necessities to get us through the week. I pay the bills and find the Halloween costumes. Please don’t think I am singing my praises. This is just how our home operates. I LOVE my job as wife and mommy. Nothing brings me greater pleasure, and I mean that with all of my heart. But if I do not take care of myself, no one else will!
So, I make my health and fitness a priority! When I put the right foods into my body and give it the exercise it needs, I am much stronger – both mentally and physically. Diet Cokes and sugar seriously cloud my brain and make it difficult for me to remember things…like those permission slips and Show and Tell days. They also tend to make me a little depressed and seriously affect my PMS. Neither of those things is good for my relationship with my husband or with my boys.
NO Diet Coke for me… |
When I make my workouts a priority, and make sure I knock them out first thing in the morning, my energy level is through the roof! I have more stamina to make it through long days and to play with my boys when we get home in the afternoon. My workouts coupled with my clean eating and Shakeology help my body fight off sickness more easily.
