Week 2 of 21 Day Fix Extreme and Tips For Staying On Track!

So, I started 21 Day Fix Extreme this past Monday…meal plans and all!  I have not done it perfectly, but I’m pretty darn proud of how closely I’ve stuck with the meal plan!  I had one pretty off day, but even it wasn’t so bad.

My goal isn’t just weight loss, but to reset my brain and my heart to remember WHY I started this journey.

Just because I coach, doesn’t mean I have the willpower and the drive 24/7!  I have to pick myself back up sometimes too!

So I recommitted, and I am heading into Week 2! And although I haven’t seen the scale move a ton, because I did get off a little bit (how frustrating that ONE bad day can set things in reverse…), I am FEELING stronger!

I’ve been a little sore from my workouts, because they’ve been a different type of challenge.  And that always makes me feel stronger and like I’m making progress.

The eating plan has helped me SO much in regards to just feel better, physically and mentally.  I hadn‘t realized how much I had allowed sugar and carbs to “slip” back into my day to day routine!


So, when recommitting, I have to be extremely diligent and careful about NOT falling back into old habits.  Here are some of my tips!

Tips for Sticking with Your Plan and Seeing Progress

1. Don’t eat past 6:00 p.m.
2.  Drink MORE water than you think you need.
3.  Skip the soft drinks.  Even Diet ones!
4.  Don’t go more than 2.5-3 hours between meals.

You know I hear so many moms say that they don’t have time to workout or they just don’t have the staying power to stick with it.

Mommas, Really??? YOU BIRTHED A HUMAN BEING into this world!!!

You can do ANYTHING!!!!  Let’s those sweet babies be WHY you do it.
WHY you stick with it.
WHY you get up an hour earlier to make your workouts and your devotions happen.
WHY you take an hour on the weekends to meal plan and prep and LEAD by example!!!


As parents…WE lay the foundation for our kids to live a healthy lifestyle.

Our kids watch every move we make…everything we say…everything we do!

3 years ago, I am embarrassed to say that I was HANDS-DOWN the worst example of HEALTH to my children. 
.
I was binge eating and not caring what I ate…
I was NOT SLEEPING!
I went NON-STOP…rest was NOT in my vocabulary…
I was NOT exercising…
I was constantly stressed & uptight…
.
I was short-tempered with them…they ate junk food & we were not active as a family…
.
I was laying a very UNHEALTHY foundation for my children.
.
Our home was not peaceful. Mostly because my hormones were out of control and I was not taking care of myself well enough to care for my family…
.
I wasn’t on cholesterol meds but I knew I needed to be. And that scared me to death.
.
My hormones before my period every month were enough to make Matt run and hide….🙈
During that time in our family’s life I knew something had to change. I began reading Made To Crave by Lysa Terkeurst and working 30 minutes a day for 6 days a week.…I began eliminating processed foods from our family’s diet. I began to LISTEN & not react to my children.
.
I made the decision 2 years ago to change the course of our family’s current health & future health.
.
I wanted to be the mom my kids looked up to!
.
Don’t you?!?!
.
And now TODAY…our family is a completely different family than we were 2 years ago…
.
We are a THRIVING!
.
The change wasn’t just about ME…the change was about my family. And we are NOW a HEALTHIER, HAPPIER family in every way.

I am a happier more peaceful momma.
Our kids eat what we eat…yes, healthy clean food…
My cholesterol is completely healthy…
My PMS is almost non-existent….
My husband has been exercising with me for over a year now…
Our kids ASK to workout with us…
Henry can out-push up me!!!!
.
Our kids KNOW that we choose to live a healthy lifestyle with exercise, eating clean, and take time to UNPLUG from electronics and ENJOY life!!!
.
As parents…it is our responsibility to be THE EXAMPLE for our kids…they will not learn it from anyone else but YOU! You have the opportunity to change the course of your children’s future health by what you do TODAY…
.
So let your kids be your WHY for getting your health back…they are WORTH it:)

I am NOT the perfect mom, but I am setting a MUCH better example for them now – physically, spiritually and financially – than I was two years ago.
