This Is the Way; Walk In It
This weekend was our 5th Annual Team Take Heart Leadership Retreat! (That feels surreal to even type!)
When I enrolled as a baby coach in 2014, I really just wanted the discount on my Shakeology. We were broke. Living paycheck to paycheck, and I loved the health and accountability I had found in Beachbody. I wanted to be able to continue it as best I knew how, and coaching was something I saw as a short term approach.
There was NOTHING in me that wanted to be a health and fitness “influencer” on social media.
I didn’t even USE Instagram, and I had about 150 followers on Facebook!
But God…
I showed up for the workouts, the nutrition and the work just like my coach told me to..then FFW 7 years to TODAY where I am healthier than I have ever been, semi-retired from my full-time teaching position, homeschooling my boys and leading a team of women who are as IN LOVE with this work as I am!
THis weekend, my leaders and some of their teams retreated to Destin, FL to rest, fellowship, dream, and PLAN! It was BETTER than I could have even imagined!
We had a pseudo agenda that gave us flexibility and fun.
We soaked in the sun, the sand and one another! We are from all over the United States – from Washington State to Kentucky and in between! While we see one another often throughout the week via zoom calls, it is PRICELESS to be face to face! There was so much laughter but also very serious and vulnerable moments as God moved in each of us to share our stories.
Isaiah 30:21
The theme for our weekend centered on Isaiah 30:21
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Isaiah 30:21
I read recently in a devotion about having “lightning bolt clarity” in our lives and our callings, and I KNEW this would be the theme of this weekend!
While you see the sweaty selfies, the transformations, the team pictures, and all the fun in between, I want you to know that it is the WORK that we do day-in and day-out that builds our businesses.
The tiny activities that no one else sees are the habits that matter. It is important to have a CLEAR vision for showing up to do that work in the moments when we are tired moms, weary from a full day of work, or just discouraged because hormones hit hard at certain times of the month.
When we have a CLEAR view of where we want to go and where God is leading us, the work becomes simpler, clearer, more focused! So we PRAYED a lot and set some 3-2-1, 100 goals! (I’ll explain that later).
I can confidently say that God showed up in this weekend away. I cannot give details, because so much of what we experienced was personal and private, but He was there. In every laugh, in every quiet moment, in every story that was shared.
There are BIG things happening in Team Take Heart, and I am always OPEN to welcoming other women who love God and want to serve women through faith, fitness and as business partners.

If you are that woman and interested in what we do, I invite you to check out this video and tell me if what we do interests you!
I take three new business partners to mentor each month (even if you’re reading this long after it was written), and I want to invite you to reach out if you’re ready to dive in with us!
