New Leader Conference 2017 Recap
Oh my! This weekend was all that I hoped and so much more!
I earned this trip to Los Angeles, CA by achieving some pretty great goals in my coaching business. I will not lie…I was very motivated by the fact that earning this trip would enable me to see my college roommate, Ashley, whom I hadn’t seen in 10+ years! She lives in San Clemente, CA, and she was able to scoop me up from the airport and we spent 24 hours together! Seeing her was so special, and such a treat!
We spent some time at the Santa Monical Pier and then with her precious family!
We’re both busy working moms, so it’s hard to make time for quick trips…especially across the country!
But after Ash dropped me back off in LA Friday morning, the conference began!
First of all, I earned my trip including my room at the luxurious J.W. Marriot LA LIVE hotel in downtown LA. It was amazingly beautiful and such a treat to have a great big hotel room all to myself for the weekend. Love my babes, but peace and quiet is such a mommy treat!

That Friday morning, Beachbody took us on a special tour of their corporate offices in Santa Monica. This place was incredible! The energy and the love and passion just poured from everyon one we met. I would say this was my FAVORITE things about this weekend. The fact that I got to see into the day to day environment of Beachbody. They truly believe in what they do and are passionate about making an impact on the world

Their mission is to End the Trend of Obesity…and living Paycheck to Paycheck. And they live it out loud and proud!
And…a huge surprise was seeing my name on the Premiere wall inside their corporate offices! I had no idea it would be so prominently displayed. I’m humbled by what this company has taught me and the doors it has opened. Achieving premier with my team was such a huge milestone! And I am honored to work alongside these lovely team members to help others get healthy – physically and spiritually!
Over the course of the weekend, we were poured into, pampered, asked our opinion on the business and ENCOURAGED more than anything else! Encouraged to lead. Encouraged to love. Encouraged to grow despite the obstacles and the struggles.
Some of my TOP take aways from this weekend were this.
1. There is No ONE Type of Coach!
I met women from all over the US and Canada who were all different in one way or another. Single women, working moms, stay at home moms, single moms. You name it, we were there! There is no ONE way to run this coaching business. It just takes passion, dedication, hard work and a desire to grow and make an impact.

2. There is JOY in this.
One top coach encouraged us to daily find JOY in what we do. You may have watched me this weekend and thought it was exciting and glamorous. And it was to some extent. But the majority of what I do is done from my home. On my lunch break. After my boys go to bed. Working with my team from my computer and in my pajamas. It’s not glamorous, but the work is rewarding. The friendships are invaluable. The results from the hard work and seeing women’s lives changed is JOYFUL!

3. Use My Struggles for GAINS

I would be lying if I said building this business has been easy. Does it require a lot of time in the beginning? No. But it did and still requires me to get outside of my comfort zone on a daily basis.
I used to worry about what people would think about all my selfies, and Shakeology posts. What they would think if I reached out to them to invite them to a challenge group. Would they be offended? Would they see the value? Would they see my heart?
Now, I worry about NOT inviting others. I have learned that in order for something to be GOOD and IMPACTFUL, it takes work! Like Jeff Hill, our Senior Vice President, said, “If it were easy, it wouldn’t be fun.”
4. My Family Comes First
Over and over as a coach, I have heard leaders in Beachbody tell me to put my family first. Make time for my spouse and my children and work Beachbody around THEM. The first few times I heard it, I didn’t think much about it. I just assumed they said it for fluff to be honest…I’m a skeptic.
But now, after 2.5 years of events and trainings, and hearing it 1:1 from corporate leadership, I believe it! You cannot work this business or any network marketing business well if you don’t put those you love first.
I work this business FOR my family. So I can be healthy and strong for them. So I can provide income and freedom for them financially. But they also need me showing up every day investing in them face to face. THAT is my motivation for doing well in this business. And I’m thankful for a company that encourages us and teaches us to make time for what matters most!
5. Set GOALS and Dream BIG
Seriously, the potential to go BIG in this business is huge. It takes effective time management, a lot of prayer and guidance, a willingness to truly invest in PEOPLE, and the tenacity to set goals and GO FOR IT! Some goals may require sacrifice, like not watching This Is US every Tuesday night (pause for gasp!). It may mean that I give up some sleep to pray with and encourage a struggling challenger or coach. It may mean that I set big, scary goals that I might possibly fail to reach.
But it’s worth it. Seeing lives changed is worth it. Changing my family’s life is worth it. Being USED by God to be SALT and LIGHT in other people’s lives is WORTH it!

I didn’t set out to be a leader in this company. Honestly, I just wanted to share what worked for me and possibly get my Shakeology paid for. Which I did within the first few months.
But this has turned into far more than Rachel ever could have imagined. God had great goals for me before I even realized it. And now, I am able to share and teach my team what I have learned and how to grow successful businesses of their own.
And it is SO worth it!
We were challenged to end the conference by sharing one word that represents what Beachbody and coaching mean to us. Mine was easy...HOPE.

Hope that we can improve our health and make it a true lifestyle change because of the programs and resources and Shakeology that Beachbody has provided us.
Hope that I can leave this world a little better than I left it by spreading Love and Encouragement around like wildfire.
Hope that I can improve my family’s life with this opportunity and the income it provides us.
Hope that my team members can find financial freedom and end the trend of living Paycheck to Paycheck like we used to.
And I am looking to spread the love and grow my team by offering HOPE to other women.
