My Favorite Kid Devotionals
I promised to share more of how we disciple our two boys. Henry (10) and Milo (9) are such little sponges, as ALL kids are at this age, and we want to help them get EXCITED about being in God’s word and knowing Him better.
Both boys gave their hearts to Christ a few years ago. Now, it’s mine and Matt’s job to help them go deeper.
Our criteria for choosing a devotional:
- It has to line up with God’s word. We don’t read devotionals that just make references to the Bible. We want the boys IN THE WORD, so they open their bibles with the devotional passages referenced.
- They must be able to read it themselves. We sit down with the boys daily to read or pray, but we also want them in the word on their own. This teaches them to make it a priority for themselves, and we want them to hear from the Holy Spirit and let Him do His work!
- We want it to be interesting to them where they are at in their life. Relatable, I think is the word I’m looking for.
So here are two of our current faves:
How Great Is Our God by Louie Giglio
Jesus Always by Sarah Young
Do you have any favorites? I’d love to hear and get some recommendations, especially for our boys as they age! If you do, would you mind to email me at janzenrk@gmail.com and tell me?
