Leave Some Things Undone
“But Martha was distracted with [a]all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; 42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:40-42

I am a total and complete Martha! And I have always just rolled my eyes at her and asked, “How could she think that was more important than Jesus?!?!”

I am a DOER. I like things FINISHED before I settle down and clear my brain and heart for any type of lersnig and growth.

✔️ I want the laundry done.
✔️ I want the kitchen cleaned.
✔️ I want my message inbox empty.
✔️ I want my emails answered.
✔️ I want the boys fed and bathed and clothed.
✔️ I want my workout done.
✔️ I want my coaches and challengers questions answered.

.
And what I’m finding is that ALL that is coming before Jesus. And that is a very sad realization.

And God is doing a work in my heart about this. Calling me to leave some things undone and to run to Him even when the never ending mess and messages aren’t taken care of.
Spending less time on social media and more time in silence with Him.

But I am missing out on the joy of all of it when I neglect time with my Savior. And I’m thankful He’s convicting me in this way and calling me to make some changes.
