- Why did we choose to?
- How is it going?
- What curriculum do we use?
- Will we do it again next year?
- How is working from home + homeschooling going?
So Iām gonna try to answer as much as I can here… but know you can ask me ANYTHING! Ok?

We began praying about homeschooling over two years ago. IT was something God laid on mine and Matt’s heart separately, which is really cool. That’s always been a sign for us that God is moving. One of the main reasons we felt led to move in direction is because we wanted more time with the boys. We didn’t have a bad school experience or anything like that. At the end of the day, we were only spending about 3 hours of quality time with the boys and much of that was eaten up with navigating schoolwork! Some other motivation for us was being a part of what they were learning each day and being able to filter what they are learning each day through TRUTH!

It always feels messy, if I’m being honest! But it’s good mess! The boys would rather do ANYTHING than schoolwork, but they do have some subjects that are easier than others. Science and history are the main ones they enjoy! We have found some type of rhythm to our days, but I still have to wrangle them to write papers, do Latin, etc.

Yes… unless something happens to tell us otherwise!

It’s going! I still teach a class for ICC on T/TH, and we have help with the boys! A retired neighbor is amazing and keeps them one day a week. She has been a BLESSING! Right now, my niece is helping for a hot minute! On Mondays, we have Community Day, and the boys meet together with a group of local homeschoolers for class and community! So, I really only teach them on Wed and Fri, and we use weekends to catch up if need be. I’m really working to teach them to be self-starters and take initiative to get their work done as independently as possible! We had a good breakthrough with Milo this week on that so PRAISE! I have had to shift my coach work hours to accommodate schooling. I work earlier in the day now, in the afternoons and later in the evenings. Much like I did as a new coach with a full time teaching job! I am thankful for beginning my coaching career that way, because those habits I created while working full time are helping me still grow a solid business with homeschool! #timeblockingislife

We have a variation of these. Saxon Math, Apologia Chemistry/Physics, Claritas Grammar, Bible Based Writing. Ok, I think that’s it! I think homeschooling is a very UNIQUE experience for every family, but I love that about it. It doesn’t need to look like anyone else. You make it work for you and your family!
