How I’m Prepping for Whole 30 & And Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix
There are two MAJOR things I’ve learned in the past couple years:
1. Preparation will make ALL the difference.
2. It’s important to be realistic and take it slowly so as not to overwhelm yourself…otherwise you’ll quit.
One of the things I teach my challengers is to start planning and prepping just their dinners. Or maybe to start by taking 2-3 days and planning their meals for those and then move forward.
I know as much as anyone that planning for a whole week of food and then prepping for it as well can seem daunting! I remember. I’ve been there too.
But each of us has the option to either just quit before we begin or to begin to tackle it one thing at a time!
And I kinda feel like I’m back at ground zero with Whole 30. I’m learning some new things about foods, cutting out some things that I have been eating and trying to plan meals accordingly.
So I’ve just been taking it a few things at a time. I know that I will want to be making and eating my own salad dressings for the week. That is not difficult, but it helps to have the right tools. So I bought these cute little Mason jars for salad dressings.
And if you know me, you know I LOVE Ranch dressing. Which can be super unhealthy for you, but I discovered a pretty simple recipe for making it! (See below for that).
So I went ahead and mixed up my own seasoning for it, which was super simple and very cost effective. I even bought the Whole 30 approved mayo for the days I’m in a pinch and need to whip it up fast.

Whole30 approved mayo…little pricey! |
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp parsley
- 3 tsp dill weed
- 2 tsp dried chives
- 4 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tsp onion powder
- 4 tsp dried onion flakes
- 2 tsp black pepper
- Mix all ingredients together and store in a ½ pint mason jar or other air tight container.
And while I’m not officially beginning until Wednesday, I’m already thawing some meat, prepping my veggies and getting my mind focused on what I WILL be eating.
3 Day Refresh First!
Right now, I’m completing a 3 Day Refresh with a friend of mine who needed/wanted the accountability. And truthfully, I need it too. I have been incredibly drawn to sugar lately and have eaten FAR too much of it. So it’s time to reign that stuff in and get on track. I want to start Whole 30 right and really commit.

I am not a halfway type of gal. I see results and maintain consistency when I commit to a new plan 100%. So, with the Whole 30 this week I am also beginning Hammer and Chisel! I’ve done it before but didn’t complete the entire 60 days. My plan is to do this in conjunction with Whole 30 and see great results! Because I’ve let my body go a little since the holidays, and I feel it! I’m getting a little uncomfortable in my clothes, and my dependence on food and sugar MUST change!
I started this whole journey to Crave God more than I crave food, and I’m committed to that and helping others along the way!
When I am Weak, Then I am Strong
I’m gonna shoot straight for a second. I’ve seen so many individuals begin a workout program and eat clean and see results, and then when they get off track they just chuck it to the wind and say “I can’t.”
I have been there and I can completely relate. But there must come a time when we decide if our health is important enough to overcome those obstacles. To decide that we WILL get back on track and create lifelong habits that will not be affected by minor setbacks.
Food is controlling ONLY when we all it to be. And I choose NOT to let it control me. It easily can, but I know that when I crave God more, I can overcome anything! Even the banana pudding that is currently calling my name from the fridge….
But I’ve been weak. I’ve made excuses and allowed them to control me. I choose NOT to be anymore by the grace and power of my great God! I am STRONG because He is with me. And I pray daily over my health and the choices I make that affect me and my family.
My health has a ripple effect on every area of my life. I own it. and I choose to make it a priority! If you want to join me, Just let me know! I can’t do it for you, but I can equip you with the right tools and be your prayer warrior and cheerleader!
