Henry Turns 7!!!!!
My sweet Henry. I look forward to writing a letter to you and Milo on your birthdays all year long.
My dear boy.
Who came into this world not so easily.
Who was such a precious and easy baby boy!
I am so proud of you. Daddy is too.
Your heart is big. It is strong. And it is stronger than this time last year, because you asked Christ to live in it at Christmas time!
I had the beautiful honor of talking with you, answering your questions and leading you in the prayer of salvation. You were SO ready!
You told me you had wanted to the day before at church with Aunt Beth, but that it had been “tricky.”
I believe that God wanted to bless ME with the opportunity to lead to Christ. And I am so thankful He did!
This was a year of firsts for you you, as I’m sure they all will be.
- You started Kindergarten at Public School. And while I was a bit of a basket case, you took it all into stride quiet nicely. No big fears, hesitancy, or anything. You have adapted; you’re doing really well in your schoolwork, and you made friends very easily. Just like you always have!
- You got your first knife for your birthday! Daddy has been excited about this for some time, and you were too! Mommy has her fears, but you are very responsible…..just be careful
- You took your first Lord’s Supper. You were so excited about this after you got saved and baptized. It was sweet to watch you. Milo kept smelling your cracker and juice!
You don’t do anything halfway! You jump in with both feet, whether it’s playing sports, fishing, gardening, whatever!
You hate homework…even though you don’t really struggle with it. You also hate tuna, anything mashed, naps, and not much else. You’re a pretty easy-going kid!
You love Under Armour shorts. I have to MAKE you wear pants when it’s too cool. You love bright, tall socks, helping me cook, being outside, FaceTime (I get a call almost every morning) and Whiffer Sniffers. You love homemade popcorn, Gatorade, “plain” noodles, and anything with sugar in it!
You absolutely LOVE sports! With every season that rolls around, you are all about the next sport. You know all of the major Ole Miss football players and understand the game better than me!
Right now it’s baseball. You and Milo are playing on the same team, and you are REALLY good!
Daddy comes home from practice every time talking about how good you both are! We are going to an Ole Miss Baseball game next weekend, and it will be so much fun! Ole Miss is your second great love.
Which explains your birthday party this year! Sports themed with an Ole Miss football field cake. Made by the famous Mrs. Lauren Hughes. You decorated everything yourself (again, you go ALL-IN!)
We had family and friends over. We ate hotdogs, bratwursts, guacamole, crack dips, fruit skewers with cheese, chips, veggies and dip and had root beer – your favorite!
It was a beautiful day, and we played with all of your new gifts! Most were sports related!
You are a beautiful, sweet, kind, hard working boy, My Henry.
Momma loves you very much!
My prayer for you is that that incredible light that God has placed in you will shine BRIGHT!!!
That you would not seek to fit the mold the world creates for you, but that you would follow the path God has set before you.
Until next year…
