Hammer and Chisel Month One Progress
Good morning! Today is February 9th, and I am blown away by how far we are into 2016 already!! It feels like I JUST started this program with my challengers, and here we are already in Week 5!
I wanted to share my progress thus far and my thoughts on this workout. Of course, I have done Autumn’s 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme and Sagi’s Body Beast. I loved all of those programs for difference reasons. But there were also things I did NOT like about them. So I went into this assuming the same would apply, and I was right!
I love that as a coach, my job is to test out new workout programs and share my thoughts. I am committed to following these plans as closely as I can and sharing my honest thoughts and results.
And I am ever thankful for finding Beachbody!!! Two years ago the word “Beachbody” meant extreme workout programs for people who were incredibly vain and focused only on looking good in a bikini…(see? full discretion!)
Today, I am so glad to admit how WRONG I was! And honestly, if I had not gotten to a point that I was so desperate to feel better and lose weight, I don’t think I would have ever given that first workout program a shot!
It literally took God getting me to a point of desperation and unhappiness with myself and my body to push me to try something I had already made my mind up was NOT for me! So, when I say I’m thankful…I mean it!
So, back to Hammer and Chisel. Here are some things that I love about the program!
1. The Diversity! There are so many different workouts that I never get bored! I love that it combines weights, cardio, resistance bands, and the stability ball! My body gets a workout throughout the week from head to toe! My core is stronger because of workouts like Chisel Balance and using the stability ball instead of a bench.
And I tend to get bored with workouts, so it’s nice to have such a range of workouts to choose from!
2. The Workout Calendar. I am a plan follower. I love to have instructions to follow and everything laid out for me. That is one of the very first things I discovered worked for me with Beachbody programs. They do not leave room for guessing. The meal plan guide is simple. The portion containers are a no-brainer. The workout calendar is perfection!!! I just get up, find the workout for that day, pop it in the dvd player or pull it up On Demand and DO IT!
And honestly, the workouts are designed to really keep your body guessing and building strength. Every week I have felt soreness in a different area. Which means that my body is changing and getting stronger!!!
3. The Meal Planning Options. So, with the 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme, you know I LOVE my portion control containers and meal planning guide. It is how I learned to eat properly and in the correct portions. I have followed this for almost two years now and it works for me! But with those programs, the goal is simply weight loss.
Well, Hammer and Chisel took it a step further. I am at a point where my weight is healthy, although it may fluctuate a few pounds throughout the month, I’m happy with where I’m at.
