HABITS > HOPE
“Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of.”
C.S. Lewis\
There comes a point when you realize you’re not getting to where you want to be in your health that you are forced to look at your habits.
The past few years I got off track a little and was trying to make what others were doing work!
I fell back into that 1990s mentality of restrict calories and carbs and increase exercise. My body HATED IT!
But, I’m BACK and learning more than ever that our bodies need FUEL – lots of God’s fuel – to function at PEAK performance!
After almost a year of:
– eating MORE (1,800-2,000 calories)
– prioritizing protein
– lifting heavier than ever
– RESTING
– healing my metabolism
The compound effect is paying off!
Don’t believe the lies the world tells you that age = defeat!
Your choices and habits > age ERRYDAY!
Why Hope Isn’t a Strategy
“I really hope this works, Rachel.”
It’s a sentence I hear often from women getting outside of their comfort zone to work with me.
And my answer is always, “Hope isn’t a strategy, but creating healthy HABITS is!”
I am ALWAYS going to shoot straight with you here and in our private convos.
I am pretty confident in wagering that you didn’t gain fat overnight. You didn’t put on extra weight in a weekend. You didn’t get high cholesterol in one year.
Rather, it’s the compound effect of choices that have yielded negative results rather than positive ones.
THE GOOD NEWS?
It works the OPPOSITE way too!
If you started waking 20 minutes earlier today, you’d have over two hours of extra time in your week next week.
If you swapped out your drive thru dinner everyday for a Whole Foods meal you prep on Sundays, you’d see less bloating and inflammation in a week.
If you started opening God’s word for ten minutes in the morning each day, you’d have over an HOUR of time with just you and Him!
The compound effect works BOTH ways!
So, the first thing I’d encourage you to do is to take stock of the negative habits that have gotten you to where you are today and start swapping them out for POSITIVE ones!
It won’t always be easy, but it IS a clear plan of attack!
If you need help, I’m here. To help you plan or simply to pray with you!
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
