Game Plan for Week 3 of 21 Day Fix Extreme

So, I’ll be honest…I’m always amazed AGAIN at how this stuff works!

I should be embarrassed to say that after TWO years of doing workout programs at home coupled
with clean eating and portion control.

But I’m not!  A challenger and I were talking the other day about having a really bad day.  I told her that I’m thankful for those days…that sometimes turn into weeks.  Periods where everything I KNOW works – planning and prepping my meals for the week; praying for self control and for the power to stay on track; keeping my WHY for sticking with this visible; practicing portion control and eliminating the foods and artificial sweeteners that make me feel terrible – it all takes a back seat to my cravings and emotions.

I’m reminded during these periods, when I feel lethargic or my brain fogs up.  Or my hormones begin to take control that I began this lifestyle for a reason.  Not for a quick fix, but to regain control of the life I know I’m meant to be living.

I know that many people find my lifestyle to be “restrictive” or “extreme”…I hear that a lot!

But it’s really not.

To me, being confined to the couch with migraines, or having to take cholesterol meds, or being on depression meds to deal with my PMDD, is truly confining.

Not being able to enjoy playing with my children or feeling uncomfortable in my skin when I’m alone with my husband – THAT is far more uncomfortable and restricting than the life I lead.

And a few weeks ago, I knew that I had gotten to the place where I needed to reign in my habits and eating.
My portions had gotten out of control.
I was staying up late snacking on the couch.
I was feeling super uncomfortable in my clothes.
My stomach was super bloated from the “extras” I had been allowing my self.

So, I whipped out my trusty 21 Day Fix Extreme videos and meal planning guide, and I got on my knees and asked God to help me get back on track!

Yeah, these workouts kick my tail…

It hasn’t been perfect, but I’ve been sticking with it pretty closely the past two weeks.  I’ve already lost 3 lbs, without feeling deprived, and my clothes feel SO much better!

Not only that, but cutting out the late night snacking alone and really helped regulate my stomach and I feel so much better when I awake in the mornings!

And I am NOT starving myself!  I eat a LOT of food!  This is my meal plan for the third week, and you can see how much and how often i eat!

I know there are lots of different theories on eating throughout the day. Some say to eat 5-6 small meals.  Some studies say not to. I find for myself though that it works.  If I wait too long between meals, I get super hungry…which leads to really bad choices at meal time.

So, eating clean whole foods keeps me full and fuels my body!  And I like FLAVOR!!! I use lots of red pepper and Sriracha sauce.  I do NOT eat boring food!

So!  All that to say:

I’m eating plenty of food – good food!
Getting my 30 minutes of exercise in each day.
Drinking my water – GOSH it’s hot!
Spending time in God’s word FIRST thing every morning.

And I’m seeing RESULTS!

I hear so many women tell me “I just can’t stick with it.  I’ve tried.”

Can I tell you something?

I said the exact same thing for years!

But God convicted me so strongly that my health was on the line.  That my family was suffering from my fatigue, my insecurities, my mood swings.  That I could actually USE this struggle to honor Him and show others that it is only through HIS power and might that I am able to succeed!

And I have been here – steadily – for two years now. And quite honestly, I have never felt better or stronger!

I know that in the past, my biggest failing was NOT inviting God into this fitness journey.

It has changed everything!

Pray and seek God’s guidance, His Power, His might to fuel you forward!
