I love all three of these things – Football, Food and Fall! Like REALLY love them!!! So much so, that when I combing all three, I get a little delirious…

Heck Yeah! |
So, since today is the start of college football season, I thought I would share some of my go-to recipes that are delicious but still help me stay on track with my healthier lifestyle!
1. The first one is a simple one. Guacamole! This stuff makes my soul happy. No kidding. I have always loved it, and it is actually a super healthy option. You just have to make sure you watch your portions. I could sit down and eat a whole vat of it, but in reality, only a couple tablespoons is a good serving. This was one of the harder lessons I learned when I started the 21 Day Fix…
And apparently, you can make a super cute little football field out of it!
I like to serve my quacamole with some whole grain tortilla chips – You can even make your own from tortillas – and fresh veggies. Here is a good recipe: Tosca Reno’s Quacamole
2. The second one is a Fall favorite, and let me just say, I make it A LOT!!! Chili of course! And this version of mine is lean and full of flavor! You can put it on top of sweet potatoes, use it as a dip, put it on a sandwich, whatever your heart desires! Click here for the recipe: Turkey Chili
3. Pizza! Who doesn’t love pizza! We made our own for the most part now, and it’s super simple. This recipe calls for grilling, but you can easily bake it in the oven as well. But you might as well crank up the grill as the weather grows cooler. You can top these with anything! We do the traditional pepperoni and cheese, or tomato basil and mozzarella. I have even loaded them with shrimp. You could make a taco pizza or barbeque. The options are limitless! So have fun with it.
4. Brownies!!!! Yes, please. Sweets are totally ok in moderation and even more so if you add some “secret” ingredients. This recipe calls for black beans, which provide tons of fiber and fill you up faster. Give it a try. I think you’ll be surprised: Black Bean Brownie Recipe
5. What’s a football get together without chicken right? And I don’t mean those greasy, stick to arteries ones. These Parmesan Crusted Chicken Fingers are SO delicious and a much healthier version. And you can whip up an easy homemade Honey Mustard sauce or a Spicy Dip for them too! You don’t have to skip all the good stuff just because you’re lightening up!
So! There you go. You’re now armed and equipped with some amazingly tasty food you can take to that next tailgating party. And you don’t have to regret your decisions. Just remember that portion control is key as well as drinking lots of water!!! And take small plates!!!
Happy Football! and Go Rebels!!!
xoxo
