Countdown To Summit Meal Plan & A Free Cruise!
Gosh, there is so much going on this summer, and we have NOT slowed down at all! This is the first week that really will seem somewhat “normal”. We don’t have to go out of town; no swim lessons; no VBS. Just staying home and enjoying our summer!
I am not complaining at all. I am so humbled by all of the awesome things that are present in our life right now. I get to be home with my family for the entire summer!!! They are outside right not playing in the yard, and they just bless my heart so much. We have celebrated Daddy today as well, and I am so thankful for my little family. There is no where else I would rather be than with them!
With things slowing down a little bit, I have decided to jump all in and try the 21 Day Fix Extreme Countdown to Competition meal plan. It is kind of intense, but I am working toward a goal before I go to Coach Summit in July, so it is the perfect time. When I say that I’m going to be “carb cycling”, people think I’m cutting out all carbs. But I AM NOT!
Carbs really get a bad wrap today. In our diet crazed society, carbs are viewed as the enemy. But that simply isn’t true. Carbs, in their natural form, can be very beneficial. They fuel our body for workouts and energy throughout the day. Obviously, when I say natural carbs, I mean staying away from anything sugar laden or processed, which is actually kind of hard today. There are so many vending machines and packaged junk foods available – some even marketed as healthy – that it’s difficult to know where to begin.
- Baked Potatoes
- Yams
- Sweet Potatoes
- Brown Rice
- Oatmeal
- Cream Of Wheat
- Grits
Some carbs that are typically thought of as healthy that I stay away from include: granola bars, dried fruits, 100 calorie packs of cookies or crackers. They may be low in calories or marketed as fuel for energy, but usually they are jam packed with SUGAR or unhealthy carbs.
Cutting back on unhealthy carbs alone can result in tremendous weight loss. Another thing is to avoid eating any type of carbs too close to bedtime, when your activity is limited. Sort of a no-brainer, but it took me a while to realize this was slowing down my progress!
So, back to carb cycling. The idea is not to eliminate carbs from my diet, but to LIMIT them. I will go 2 days with very low carb meals followed by 1 day of regular eating. Like I said, this is new to me, so I am still learning. Thankfully, the 21 Day Fix Extreme guide does the planning for me. I just had to calculate my weight and calories, and it gave me a number of containers to eat each day. No calorie counting or anything! Just fill my containers and EAT!!!
Here is my plan for the week. I keep it pretty simple, because just like I tell my challengers, when you’re starting something new, that is the best way to proceed. If I get too complicated, I tend to get off track.
I am not going to lie and say this will be easy for me, but I DO believe it will be beneficial. I have kind of plateaued in my progress. I really want to lean out some more and build more muscle, and I think this will work. I also think it will be an awesome way to focus and challenge myself. That is one thing I love about coaching. There is always a challenge just around the corner. Whether in my personal growth or in my business. And the rewards are incredible!!!
Speaking of rewards, I am so excited, because this month I got off the wait list for the cruise to Jamaica next spring!!!! Not only that, but it is COMPLETELY PAID FOR by Beachbody, because I worked so hard to hit my goals over the past six months. I didn’t win it, I EARNED it!!! Which makes it even sweeter. All Matt and I have to do is drive South and hop on the ship. Everything else is covered! 6 days and 5 nights.
There will be live workouts with the trainers, awesome food, beautiful sights, and so much fun!!! And I get to hang out with some of my favorite people!!! I love that Beachbody is so committed to helping people get healthy. And I am thankful that they reward their coaches and encourage us to keep working to reach others and change lives.
If you are interested at all in joining my team and getting started in your own health and fitness or in growing your own business, I have a private sneak peak group that begins tomorrow!!! I will share what I do as a coach, how I got started and earn income and how you can join me as well!! That will be followed by a brand new training program that begins on Monday, July 6th.
If you would like to be in the sneak peak or get started with me in July, just leave your information below!! I would love for you to be sailing with me to Jamaica next March!
