Body Beast Results and My Review

I was incredibly skeptical about starting Body Beast.  I loved Chalean Extreme and the heavier weights, but this intimidated me for some reason.  I went back and forth for a few months before finally jumping in.


Sort of intimidating, right? 

Maybe it was Sagi.  He was a male trainer, and was extremely BUILT!  Even though I learned a lot with Chalean Extreme, I think was also still a little bit afraid of heavy lifting and that it would bulk me up…I KNOW! I should have known by then that was not true.  


So, I dove in in October 2015.  I had my weights.  I had my stability ball.  I was good to go.


Every day!  I was up.  I don’t think I missed a workout this time. Not even during the holidays!


Habit is a powerful force!

And I had NO idea I would love it so!  Sure, Sagi is not my favorite trainer.  He says some really corny things and has a very LARGE ego, but he knows his stuff!


I felt extremely comfortable throughout the program, and I really have grown much stronger!.






The program is centers around lifting.  And lifting heavy.  I have multiple sets of weights at home, so I did not have to invest in anything.  But even if you only have a few sets of weights, start there!  Don’t be afraid!


The program is a 90 day program and there are three phase…actually he calls them “blocks.”



The Bulk phase is almost JUST lifting, so I have defnitely gotten used to not doing a lot of cardio, which will prove difficult when I move into Hammer and Chisel….

But I absolutely have fallen in love with lifting! My metabolism is much higher than when I’m just doing cardio.  My waist has tightened up, and I feel so STRONG!  In the last phase, you incorporate a little more cardio and cut carbs, but with the holidays and my injured foot, I wasn’t able to accomplish exactly what I wanted, but I am STILL pleased with my results.



I gained a good deal of muscle.  My waist actually shrunk by 1 inch, but I GAINED weight!  Isn’t that crazy?  My body got smaller where I wanted it to, but I gained weight!
Not what most women want to do right? But when you are at a healthy weight and buidling muscle, there is really no where to go but up!

One thing I did different with this program, and that I will continue, is to incorporate Beachbody’s new Performance line.  I utilized the E&E and Recover.  The Recover is like MAGIC!  It is designed to provide extra protein for body building but also to promote natural recovery of muscles.  And I can tell a major difference on the days I don’t utlize Recover.  But I only add it on days that I know I’ve pushed harder and will likely be a little more sore.  I’m definitely continuing it and adding the Recharge for overnight recovery as well!

I wish I had taken better pictures of my legs.  I can definetely see a big difference there. And FEEL it as well.  When I am just working around the house, playing with the boys, and doing day to day tasks, I can tell my leg muscles are a lot stronger.  Which makes picking up the boys, loads of laundry, etc much easier!  That’s a bonus moms! 

I will say it again!  I did VERY little cardio with this program.  I know I used to be obsessed with getting in as much cardio as I could thinking it would help me create the shape I desired, but I always just looked super thin and out of shape…

I like having muscle.  I like the fact that my body burns more calories.  That I am stronger in the daily tasks that I need to do as a mom.

I would encourage everyone to try weights!

So, now it is on to a new program.  A new challenge and new results!  I’m happy with my body . Very!  I will never look like a model, and I’m ok with that.  But it is so much fun to see how I can change it.  I have NEVER had muscles anywhere.  I just didn’t think I was built for that.  Guess I was wrong.
