A Quiet Reckoning

𝗔 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗘𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗞𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚⠀

What does Christmas mean to me? ⠀
⠀
This year, I’ve thought a lot about this. 3-4 weeks to really GET INTO this isn’t enough. Which is why I want to DAILY claim what this precious holiday means to me. ⠀

𝘼 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙠𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 ⠀

You see? ⠀
⠀

Once I was lost, and didn’t really get it. ⠀
That my sin was the issue. ⠀
That God loved me WHOLLY, but because of His HOLINESS, couldn’t have a relationship with my sin covered self. ⠀
⠀
𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝘽𝙀𝘼𝙐𝙏𝙄𝙁𝙐𝙇 𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙢. ⠀

Christmas to me represents more than presents, carols, lights and even that “sweet and soft” depiction of baby Jesus in the manger. ⠀
⠀
It’s a young woman who had little money, no future, and no hope in this world……It is her humble YES that God used to tip toe into this world. ⠀
⠀
A gentle Joseph who could have RUN for the hills, but instead said YES to becoming an earthly father to his King. ⠀
⠀
It’s a dirty, germy, animal filled manger where my Savior made his quiet entrance into a world He will one day rule. ⠀
⠀
It’s humble; it’s dirty; it went unnoticed by many. But OH BOY! The RECKONING and the battle with Satan for our souls that it BRINGS is anything but QUIET.⠀

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. ⠀
⠀ “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,” (Philippians 2:10) ⠀

He came as a baby. Grew into a man. Conquered sin, death and the grave on the cross and when He rose again. And one day He is returning. ⠀

And I will be with Him. ⠀
